Client
National Centre for Educational Development (NCED)
Location
Kathmandu, Dhading, and Jhapa districts
Project Description
Conducted by Transcend Vision Nepal Pvt. Ltd for NCED, this study evaluated educational radio programs across three districts (Kathmandu, Dhading, Jhapa). Using surveys, FGDs, and interviews with 144 samples (teachers, students, public), it assessed program relevance and participation. Findings showed students were the main listeners (75%), but regular engagement was low (18%). Issues included poor coverage in hilly regions, timing conflicts for female listeners, and competition from local FM. Recommendations focused on policy refinement, multimedia approaches, and improved transmission.
